Brussels, 15/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - EU heads of state and government are expected to decide at the European Council on Thursday whether to impose sanctions against Iran (due to its nuclear programme) that go beyond those decided last week by the UN Security Council in its Resolution1929. Foreign affairs ministers meeting on 14 June in Luxembourg had previously attempted, in vain, to reach an agreement on “measures accompanying and supporting the UN Security Council Resolution”.
