Brussels, 11/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a joint statement to the European Commission and Member States, the European electrical industry organisation Eurelectric and the European Wind Energy Association EWEA argue that an EU approach is crucial for the planning of a European super-grid with greater integration of wholesale markets in order to ensure wide-scale deployment of renewables and improve energy security. The joint statement points out the need for the ten-year plan to develop energy grids of the network operators group ENTSO-E to work hand-in-hand with national programmes to develop renewable energy, programmes (roadmaps) to be submitted by the Member States at the end of June 2010. The joint statement can be found on the two organisations' websites: http://www.ewea.org and http://www.eurelectric.org . (E.H. trans fl)
