JUSTICE, FREEDOM AND SECURITY DG IS SEPARATING

Brussels, 02/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European commissioners for internal affairs, Cecilia Malmström, and justice, fundamental rights and citizenship, Viviane Reding, will each have their own directorate general within the European Commission as of 1 July. It was decided on Wednesday 2 June, following a proposal by Commission President José Manuel Barroso, that the Justice, Freedom and Security Directorate General should be split into two: - DG Home Affairs and DG Justice.
