Brussels, 02/06/2010 (Agence Europe) - The European commissioners for internal affairs, Cecilia Malmström, and justice, fundamental rights and citizenship, Viviane Reding, will each have their own directorate general within the European Commission as of 1 July. It was decided on Wednesday 2 June, following a proposal by Commission President José Manuel Barroso, that the Justice, Freedom and Security Directorate General should be split into two: - DG Home Affairs and DG Justice. Stefano Manservisi leaves his post at DG Development and will become the new director for DG Home Affairs to replace Jonathan Faull, who joins DG MARKT.
