Ponta Delgada conference shows European islands' determination to seize opportunities of sustainable development

Brussels, 26/05/2010 (Agence Europe) - In Ponta Delgada (Azores) at the 30th annual conference of the CPMR (Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions) Islands Commission on 20-21 May, European island regional authorities said they were “determined to seize all the opportunities offered by a policy for sustainable development” given that this “could play an instrumental role in strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion within the EU”.
