GreenLight and GreenBuilding awards

Brussels, 14/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - The 2010 GreenLight and GreenBuilding awards were presented in Frankfurt on 13 and 14 April. These awards, launched by the European Commission in 2000 and 2005 respectively, promote the reduction of energy consumption in lighting and buildings, in both the public and private sectors on a voluntary basis. The GreenLight winners were: Águas do Cávado (Portugal, with energy savings in lighting of 39,40%), Dagda Town Council (Latvia, 85%), Decathlon (Spain and Romania, 35.2% and 70%), E-on (Germany, 71,92%), ING Real Estate (the Netherlands, 70%), Le Centre de Dialyse du Bearn (France, 53%), Municipality of Dobrich (Bulgaria, 50 %), NH Hotels (Spain, 60,24%), O.S.V.O Comp, a.s. (Slovakia, 18%), Prague Marriott Hotel (Czech Republic, 68%), Public Service of the City Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany, 58%), Saule Birinius Pils SIA (Latvia, 76%); and best endorser: Infrax CVBA (Belgium). The GreenBuilding award winners were: Brostaden (Sweden, 34 buildings refurbished, 38% primary energy savings), Secondary school Hengersberg (Germany, 81% of primary energy demand), Piraeus Bank Syggrou (Greece, 30% of final energy demand), NH Principe de la Paz (Spain, 49% of electricity consumption, 48% of gas consumption), Office Manschein - special recognition for innovation (Austria, 82% of primary energy consumption), Phoenix Plaza, (Croatia, 71% of heating energy demand), ASILO Cologno Monzese (Italy, 81% of primary energy demand), Port of Ghent office (Belgium, 67% of primary energy demand), Office ENERGYbase (Austria, 72% of heating energy demand), AB Vasilopoulos (Greece, 32% of electricity consumption), SeaBridge Logistics (Belgium, 73% of primary energy demand); and best endorsers: Levenger (Spain) and Bengt Dahlgren (Sweden).
