World Bank warns of possible energy crisis in Eastern Europe and former Soviet countries within five years

Brussels, 22/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - In a report published on 18 March, the World Bank warns of a possible energy crisis within the next five or six years in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet states of Central Asia, unless, over the next 20 years, investment totalling $3,000 billion can be made, with half going into primary energy production (oil, gas and coal) and the other half into electricity generation infrastructure.
