While awaiting final report on presidential election, EU calls for all disputes to be settled by legal means

Brussels, 09/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - Following the presidential election in Togo on 8 February, provisional results make current President Fauré Gnassingbé the winner, with 60.92% of the vote, though the opposition is challenging the outcome. High Representative for Foreign Affairs and EU Security Policy Catherine Ashton, and Development Commissioner Andris Piebalgs have called on the people of Togo to follow legal procedures to settle any possible disputes.
