Council adopts European micro-finance instrument to promote jobs and social inclusion - Germany votes against and Hungary abstains

Brussels, 08/03/2010 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 8 March in Brussels, the Employment and Social Affairs Council (EPSCO) approved without debate (but with Germany voting against) a decision on a new European micro-finance instrument to promote jobs and social inclusion (PROGRESS) worth €100 million. This follows the agreement reached on 11 February last in a first reading at the European Parliament. The latter also voted in favour without debate. Germany also voted against on this occasion...
