08/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - In Venice on Monday 8 February, the Veneto Region and eight other regions (one from each of Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Norway, Spain and Sweden) launched a telemedicine project, named “Renewing Health”. With co-funding from the European Commission, the €14 million project will seek to implement and evaluate remote medical assistance for patients with chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and respiratory diseases. The work will be carried out in the nine participating regions. 7,900 patients will be involved, with some 4,500 of these from Veneto. (O.J./transl.rt)
