Nine of new EU states call for respect for solidarity principle

Brussels, 04/02/2010 (Agence Europe) - Agriculture ministers from 11 EU countries met in Warsaw on Wednesday 3 February to discuss the future of the common agricultural policy (CAP) after 2013. Nine of the ministers (those from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovakia) signed a declaration in which they call for a “strong and efficient” common agricultural policy and hoped that the changes that will be made to the policy will “preserve its...
