25/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - At the General Affairs Council, chaired by Catherine Ashton, on Monday 25 January, EU foreign ministers discussed preparation of the international conference on Afghanistan to be held in London on 28 January. The meeting in the British capital will provide an excellent opportunity to take stock of ways of further helping the Afghan government to assume its responsibilities for the stabilisation of the country and to implement its pledges on governance, on tackling corruption and on economic development, Ashton said after the meeting.
