14/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - On 21 December 2009, the WTO Dispute Settlement Body set up a single panel to investigate complaints by the United States, the EU and Mexico over Chinese restrictions on the export of raw materials (DS394, DS395 and DS398). Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Japan, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, the EU and the United States have reserved their third party rights. At the start of November, following the breakdown in their separate negotiations with Beijing, the United States, the EU and Mexico called on the WTO to put in place a panel to decide on the dispute in this sensitive area (see EUROPE 10013).
