11/01/2010 (Agence Europe) - After the hearings of the European commissioners-designate, various parliamentary committees of the EP will write to the president of the EP stating their assessment of the skills and attitudes of the candidates to fulfil their role. These letters will be assessed on either Wednesday 20 or 21 January, at a joint meeting of the Conference of the Presidents (president of the EP and presidents of the political groups) and the Conference of Presidents of the committees of the EP. The approval vote of the European Parliament will take place on Tuesday 26 January (simple majority vote), preceded by a debate, during which the president of the European Commission will answer any questions the EP may have.
