15/12/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 15 December, the European agency for improving living and working conditions, Eurofound (Dublin), announced in Stockholm the results of its second European Company Survey 2009 on flexibility practices and social dialogue. According to the survey conducted in spring 2009, in 27,000 public and private companies in the EU27 as well as in Croatia, Turkey and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), working time flexibility is the most common type of flexibility in European companies. Of these companies, 56% with 10 or more employees in the EU27 use flexi-time arrangements, and 67% of them apply temporary work arrangements like temporary agency workers, fixed-term contracts and freelancers. Three out of four establishments indicate that the need for further training is periodically checked in a systematic way. The final results of this second survey will be published in spring 2010.
