Some 70% of scam mobile phone ringtone sites rectified after EU investigation, according to European Commission

Brussels, 17/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has been cleaning up scam-ringtone downloads for mobile phones. Asked to react to the long list of complaints, mainly from parents unhappy at children being tricked and abused, often on pornographic websites, the European Commission opened an investigation together with member states' authorities 18 months ago (see EUROPE 9706).
