Brussels, 12/11/2009 (Agence Europe) - The winners of the 2010 European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA) have been selected. They will receive the award during a ceremony in Groningue, covered on television throughout Europe, on 14 January 2010. Maroš Šefèoviè, Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, will attend the ceremony. For the first time, the new category of award winner, the “Public Choice EBBA”, will be selected by the European public by voting online. The European Border Breakers Awards aim to reward young artists and groups whose success goes beyond national borders and who manage to reach audiences outside their own country. They are given by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). (I.L./transl.jl)
