EU ‘nature restoration’ regulation rejected by European Parliament’s Environment Committee for lack of majority

The future of the proposed EU regulation on nature restoration is still uncertain, and we will have to wait until the next plenary session of the European Parliament (10-13 July) in Strasbourg to find out its fate.

The 88 members of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), who continued their vote on Tuesday 27 June on this text imposed by the EU’s 2030 biodiversity strategy, finally rejected - by 44 votes to 44 with no abstentions...
