Representatives of the European Parliament and the Swedish Presidency of the EU Council reached, on Tuesday 27 June, a political agreement on the revision of the directive on occupational exposure to asbestos, agreeing in particular on the use of two exposure limit values.
Employers will first have to reduce the occupational exposure limit from 0.1 to 0.01 asbestos fibres per cm³ with no transition period.
