Majority of EU Council in favour of ban on fur farming

At the Agriculture Council in Luxembourg on Monday 26 June, the Austrian, German and Dutch ministers called for an EU-wide ban on fur farming, echoing the European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) ‘Fur Free Europe’.

A large majority of agriculture ministers supported this request, which also includes a ban on the trade of fur products (see EUROPE B13201A35).

The call for a ban on fur farming was supported by the Belgian, Cypriot, Czech, Estonian, Lithuanian, Luxembourg and Slovak...
