06/08/2009 (Agence Europe) - According to the latest data published on Wednesday 5 August by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm, a total 29 908 confirmed cases of influenza A (H1N1)v infection in the 31 countries of the EU and EFTA, which are being monitored by the EWRS European network. 42 deaths have so far occurred in Europe: United Kingdom (30 deaths), Spain (8), Belgium (1), France (1), Netherlands (1) and Hungary (1). Globally, the total number of deaths stands at 1402 out of the 170 confirmed A(H1N1)v influenza cases. (O.J./trans/rh)
