23/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - In conclusions adopted on Monday 23 March on special report no. 11/2008 of the European Court of Auditors (management of EU aid to public storage operations for cereals), the Council of Ministers of the EU welcomes the fact that the Court has found that the procedures ensuring that the cereals bought in are of the required quality and that they are stored appropriately, are correctly applied. It also acknowledges that, bearing in mind some of the Court's findings, some elements of the current public storage system could be managed in a more effective way to limit, if appropriate, the costs of intervention.
