03/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 3 March, the European Commission authorised the proposed concentration by which the undertaking NBC Universal (USA), controlled by General Electric (USA), De Agostini Communication (Luxembourg), controlled by De Agostini S.p.A (Italy) and IMI Investimenti S.p.A (Italy), controlled by Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A Italy intend to initiate a group takeover of the company, Cattleya S.p.A (Italy) by way of a purchase of shares. The companies are involved in the following areas of business: NBC Universal - development, production and marketing of entertainment, news and information; DeAC - film distribution and audiovisual content production; IMI - equality investments through both own and collective funds; and Cattleya - film and TV production in Italy.
