30/11/2007 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament delivered favourable opinions on Thursday 29 November on the nomination of seven members of the Court of Auditors (from 1 January 2008): David Bostock from the UK, Michel Cretin from France, Maarten Engwirda from the Netherlands, Henri Grethen from Luxembourg, Harald Noack from Germany, Ioannis Sarmas from Greece and Hubert Weber from Austria. These were re-elections in the cases of Messrs Weber, Bostock, Sarmas and Engwirda. Adopting the reports by Ines Ayala-Sender (PES, Spain) supporting the candidates, the EP also demands a revision of the nomination procedure. It wants to receive relevant information on the candidate members in advance. (L.C.)
