09/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the European Commission launched two calls for proposals, accounting for a total of €14 million, as part of the preparatory action “Migration management - Solidarity in action” for more effective management of legal and illegal immigration. The first call, with an allocation of €7 million, is intended to help member states face the growing pressure of arriving immigrants, by allowing them to provide adequate receptions conditions for these people involved. The second call for proposals, also worth €7 million, is closely linked to the return of migrants to their countries of origin. It will help reintegration in countries of origin with which the Commission has concluded readmission agreements, and also will help develop projects which provide support for information campaigns warning of the dangers of illegal migration.
