14/09/2005 (Agence Europe) - The British Presidency issued a statement on 13 September on behalf of the EU on the obstruction of the activities of the 'Ligue Tunisienne pour la Defense des Droits de l'Homme': 'The EU recalls that human rights are a significant element in its political dialogue with Tunisia within the framework of the EU-Tunisia Association Agreement. In this context, the EU notes with concern the situation of the Ligue Tunisienne pour la Defense des Droits de l'Homme in Tunisia. The EU expresses its wish that the Ligue will be able to continue its work to promote and protect human rights in Tunisia.'
