07/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - A new monthly magazine in English, devoted to Europe and entitled "E ! Sharp -People/Power/Process in Europe" has just come out, with the aim of making more people aware of Europe, "in a lively, colourful and accessible way". In this first edition, publisher Paul Adamson underlines that the magazine is clearly pro-European, but not blindly so, the editor in chief Jacki Davis interviews the British Minister for Europe Peter Hain (for whom EU Councils should continue to be held behind closed doors, but should be open to the public when a decision is being taken so that those wishing to explain their country's position can do so), the El Pais correspondant in Brussels Bosco Estruelas describes the key personalities in the future Spanish presidency of the Council, Ian Black, Guardian correspondant takes readers on a journey into the realm of future European projects, and Tim Jones looks at the goings-on at the European Central Bank and competition policy, whilst Rory Watson asks what it takes to be a Eurocrat, and Geoff Meade, in his column, wonders how to sell the EU.
