05/02/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank (EIB) gave itself a code of good conduct, which governs the administrative relations of its personnel with the public (and which is published in the Official Journal C17). The codes prescribes for the personnel to act in this relationship in a fair manner and in the interest of the bank, and governs the way in which to reply to requests for information, both verbal or written. Thus it specifies that each request must receive an answer within two months after the date of reception. Moreover, it subordinates the processing of a citizen's personal data to the European system for the protection of data. Finally, it foresees a right for the receiver to a reply.
