24/11/2015 (Agence Europe) - French-German pilot project for youth mobility. The objective of a new experimental project launched in Paris on Monday 23 November is to facilitate the exchange of young French and German apprentices. The pilot project will start off involving around 50 young French and German people who are training as apprentices in 11 big companies that have volunteered to take part (Airbus, Allianz, Bosch, BASF, Bosch, Danone, ENGIE, Michelin, l'Oréal, BNP Paribas and Safran). “France and Germany want to strengthen the professional dimension of Erasmus so that young apprentices can benefit from the same mobility opportunities as students.” The two countries thus want “to democratise and broaden youth mobility in Europe”, said French minister for employment Myriam El Khomri in a press release. During the Youth Council in Brussels, the German delegation called for “this type of exchange to be encouraged at European level”. (SPj)
