On Monday 7 September, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is organising a regional workshop in Barcelona on mobile financial services, the UfM general secretariat announced in a press release on Friday. The theme will focus on the promotion of these services. “An initial investigation during the first regional workshop on 1 October 2014 enabled analysis of the regulations in force for deploying mobile financial services in the region”, the press release states. This time, it will be a case of “the effectiveness of the models for the distribution of alternative financial services based on distance mobile financing/banking services” (our translation). (FB)
