02/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - EIB loan to L2 bypass in PACA Region (France). On 29 November, the European Central Bank (EIB) and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region signed a contract for €155 million in funding to help speed up completion of the L2 bypass. The PACA region will assume 27.5% of the funding for this bypass, which is very eagerly awaited by all those having to travel through the Marseilles metropolitan area. This is key funding for the trans-European road network and meets the dual performance and safety objective for the regional and European capital that is Marseilles. The L2 bypass is located on the Latin Arc Trans-European transport Network connecting Barcelona and Genoa. Work will begin in July 2014, with its planned conclusion by the end of 2017. A workforce of up to 500 will be involved in the project. (OL/transl.fl)
