TV channel audiences falling in Europe - International news channels saw an overall fall in their audiences in 2012, according to the most recent annual EMS report. According to this study, which focuses on the wealthiest 20% of TV viewers in 21 European countries (including Russia, Switzerland and Turkey), that is, around 49 million people, once again it is CNN (35.3% of market share), Sky News (25.2% market share) and Euronews (24.5% market share), which dominate the news channels' “Top 5”. Nonetheless, Euronews wins out in the different audience criteria (daily, weekly and monthly), insofar, as over the period of the year, the number of TV viewers watching it has fallen less sharply than those watching BBC World or CNN.
