22/06/2012 (Agence Europe) - Russian accession to WTO on the right track. Russia could, by August, complete procedures for its accession to the WTO, which was validated by the WTO member countries at the last ministerial conference in December 2011 (see EUROPE 10493 and 10518). The lower chamber of the Russian parliament, the Duma, is due to debate the accession protocol on 4 July. It is due to be ratified by 23 July then passed into law by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The text, approved by the committee for agrarian issues this week, still has to be debated by the foreign relations, budget and taxes, and economic policy committees. (EH/transl.rt)
