14/04/2010 (Agence Europe) - F4E (Fusion for Energy) has just awarded the Architect Engineer contract for ITER Buildings and Civil Infrastructures to the Engage consortium of four European engineering companies: Assystem and Iosis (France), Atkins (United Kingdom) and Empresarios Agrupados (Spain). The contract worth approximately €150 million represents a total of around 1,700,000 hours of work over the 8 years, for the design and construction of the ITER buildings at Cadarache. The signing of the contract on 13 April marks the start of the operational phase of construction. From the development of the detailed design to the final acceptance of the works, the Architect Engineer will assist F4E during the entire construction process, including the ITER buildings, site infrastructure and distribution of the power supplies.
