08/09/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has reappointed Professor Damien Neven as Chief Competition Economist for a further period of three years. This decision was made on Tuesday 8 September. In the three years since he was first appointed Professor Neven has contributed to the work of the European Commission in the fields of antitrust, mergers and state aid control. The Commission decided exceptionally to reappoint Professor Neven for a further period of three years to ensure continuity in projects that last beyond a period of three years. Professor Neven has a Doctorate in Economics from Nuffield College (Oxford) and is a Professor of Economics at the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva which he joined in 2001.
