Brussels, 31/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 30 July, the European Investment Bank (EIB) signed a funding contract for 100 million euros with the Romagna-based multi-utility public service company ENIA for the implementation of its integrated environmental project in Parma. The EIB funds will mainly be used for the construction and deployment of a waste incinerator for Parma and the whole province.
On Friday 31 July, the EIB granted an additional loan of 100 million euros to the multi-utility public service company ACEA to fund improvements to and the extension of the energy network of Rome. This loan represents the first tranche of an EIB funding operation of a value of 200 million euros, to support ACEA's energy sector plan (2008-2011). (L.P/trans.fl)
