British House of Lords criticises highest spending going on agriculture

Brussels, 30/07/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 30 July, the House of Lords EU Committee in the United Kingdom criticised the European Commission's proposals for the 2010 European Communities budget (next stage in process in October, with the European Parliament's first reading) for maintaining a very high level of spending on agriculture and failing to shift adequate resources to stimulus measures to aid economic recovery.
