30/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - On the “Maison Robert Schuman” site in Scy-Chazelles (near Metz) several meetings will be held on the occasion of the Festival of Europe. Meetings will be on the theme of peace, in relation to the 60th anniversary of the Council of Europe and the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950. As of 8 May, 300 young people from 7 European countries will take part in a series of events (games, competitions, conferences). They will be joined by four MEPs from the region as a whole: - Nathalie Griesbeck (EPP-ED, France), Marianne Isler-Béguin (Greens, France), Doris Pack (EPP-ED, Germany) and Jo Leinen (PES, Germany), as well as Jean-Luc Bohl, President of the Robert Schuman Centre, and Paul Collowald, President of the Robert Schuman Association. On 9 May (at 5.00pm), President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, and the president of the Moselle general council, Philippe Leroy, will inaugurate the museographic extension of the “Maison Robert Schuman”.
