Despite recovery measures, financial situation remains volatile, says Papademos

Strasbourg, 22/04/2009 (Agence Europe) - In presenting the European Central Bank (ECB) annual report in Strasbourg on Tuesday 21 April, ECB Vice-President Lucas Papademos highlighted the recovery measures taken over the last few months and hopes of a gradual upturn in economic activity. He acknowledged, however, that, despite these efforts, “uncertainty remains unusually high”.
