23/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - A further meeting between Russia and the EU (for the EU, experts from the European Commission and the delegation from the European Space Agency, and, for Russia, a Russian Space Agency delegation) took place in Moscow on Wednesday 18 March. According to a joint declaration by ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain and Russian Space Agency Director Anatoly Perminov, Russian and European experts are seeking a comprehensive agreement on cooperation on satellite navigation systems and information exchange. They are also continuing work on resolving the main compatibility problems between Galileo and Glonass. A European source indicated that putting Galileo into orbit could again be delayed, and the system might not reach full operational capacity until 2014, rather than 2013. (A.By./transl.rt)
