23/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - In conclusions adopted on Monday 23 March, the Agriculture Council welcomed the special report no. 8/2008 of the European Court of Auditors, entitled "Is Cross-Compliance an Effective Policy?" It welcomes the fact that the scope of cross-compliance has been adjusted in the light of the "health check" of the CAP (Common agriculture policy) and calls upon the Commission and the countries of the EU to continue their efforts to simplify the rules in this area....
