Brussels, 20/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - Three months on from the gas crisis between Russia and Ukraine, the Ukraine and Russia met for a new energy dialogue meeting to restore confidence which was shaken by the cutting off of Russian gas supplies in the Ukraine. The meeting focussed on the EU's early warning system and the observers sent by the EU to the main gas pipeline crossings between Russia and Ukraine. The parties briefed each other on the latest developments in their energy policies. The EU delegation asked for information about the Russian energy market and the country's energy strategy for 2030. The EU and Russia also discussed the negotiations over a partnership and cooperation agreement that started on 4 July 2008 but were suspended from September to December after the Russia-Georgia conflict.
