Brussels, 04/03/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Newspaper Publishers Association (ENPA) and the European Federation of Magazine Publishers (FAEP) have decided to merge their representations in Brussels. By sharing office space they hope to save costs and create synergies in their daily work. The two publishers' associations will share premises and use the same IT facilities but will maintain separate identities of each organisation. ENPA President Valdo Lehari Jr. welcomed the move as “a very positive step in the direction of having a more coordinated press voice in Brussels, all the more necessary in these times of regulatory and economic uncertainty”. FAEP President David J. Hanger felt “such a venture was logical and timely, and will lead to a new dimension for publishers' lobbying success”. (I.L./transl.jl)
