Catherine Ashton in southern Africa to move forward negotiations on EU/SADC Economic Partnership Agreement

Brussels, 09/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - The European Trade Commissioner, Catherine Ashton, who is in Southern Africa from 9 to 12 February, is carrying out her first mission in the region, with the dual objective of moving forward the agenda of bilateral and regional negotiations. One of the main purposes of her visit to South Africa will be to convince this particularly tough negotiation partner to lift its final reservations to the conclusion of a full Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA)...
