05/02/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 4 February, European Investment Bank (EIB) President Philippe Maystadt and Vice-President Dario Scannapieco, responsible for financing operations in Italy, Malta and the Western Balkans, met President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitiano. This was the first visit of an Italian head of state to the EIB headquarters in Luxembourg. President Napolitano met senior EIB officials and spent time with the bank's Italian staff. (O.L./transl.rt)
