26/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 23 January, the European Commission put the proposal to the European Parliament and Council that it allocate to Romania the sum of €11,785,377 in commitment and payment appropriations from the EU Solidarity Fund. This money is to help repair the direct damage suffered by Romania in the flooding of July 2008. The total cost direct damage is estimated to be €471,415,101. (O.L./transl.rt)
