12/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - Since Monday 12 January, nationals from 22 EU member states (all member states excluding Greece, Poland, Romania and Bulgaria) will have to fill in a compulsory information document known as the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (EUROPE 9713) when they visit the USA. This document, known as ESTA, must be completed on the web for non-visa tourist or business visits at the following address: https: //esta.cbp.dhs.gov/). This document replaces the current information document, which until now, has been filled in on the plane by travellers. The US authorities will initially be tolerant towards travellers who have not filled in the information on-line but the travellers in questions could find themselves delayed at the border.
