12/01/2009 (Agence Europe) - On 9 January, the European Commission authorised plans by Dow Chemical to acquire Rohm and Haas (both of which are based in the United States). The Commission carried out investigations into a number of vertical and horizontal overlaps of the parties, but concluded that in these sectors, the new entity would continue to face effective competition.
