04/11/2008 (Agence Europe) - The Ecofin Council has formally approved the granting of a loan of €6.5 billion to Hungary under the Community financial support mechanism in order to support this member state which the financial crisis has made fragile (see EUROPE 9772). The loan is in addition to aid of €12.5 billion from the IMF and €1 billion from the World Bank.
