24/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - On 24 October 2008, the Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of joint control of North Sea Petroleum Holding BV of The Netherlands by Stichting Administratiekantoor Van der Sluijs Groep Holding (STAK Van der Sluijs Groep) of The Netherlands and Frisol Beheer BV, also of The Netherlands. North Sea Petroleum Holding is a newly created joint venture which will carry out the combined non-retail sales activities of STAK van der Sluijs Groep and Frisol Beheer. In a separate case, the Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of joint control of Spanish life assurer Caixa Terrassa Vida, currently wholly owned by Caixa d'Estavis de Terra, which will sell part of its stake to Spanish insurance company Aegon Spanje. Both deals were examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (C.D./transl.fl)
