Brussels, 22/10/2008 (Agence Europe) - In June, the European Commission, at the request of the European Biodiesel Board (EBB), launched an anti-subsidy procedure against the US biodiesel B99. European biodiesel producers, members of the EBB, say in a press release issued on 16 October that US exports of B99 to the EU have already reached 850,000 tonnes, or “more than 80% of the volumes imported for the whole year 2007 (1.05 million tonnes” in the first seven months of this year). Given this “catastrophic situation”, the EBB wants the Commission, on the basis of Community anti-subsidy and anti-dumping regulations, to register all biodiesel imports. (E.H./transl.rt)
